Frozen Charlotte Author: Alex Bel The book “Frozen Charlotte”written by Alex Bell is a horror/mystery/fictional novel about a teenage girl, Sophie, that lost a friend while playing a board game called “Ouija”, where the players interact with the ghosts. “Frozen Charlotte” is also a name of the series of dolls made in the Victorian era (1890-1920). The dolls play a major role in the plot line. The main character, Sophie, visits her uncle to find out more about her dead cousin that talked to her and her friend through the “Ouija”. When she comes to their house in the mountains, she finds many “Frozen Charlotte” dolls that later in the night become alive and attempt to harm/kill Sophie. The game “Ouija” is also one of the key things in the book. In the first chapter, Sophie’s friend falls off his bike and drowns in a pond while going home after playing the online version of it, The book includes lots of details that creates a creepy, mystical atmosphere, along with many unexpected events and breaking points. Extremely descriptive characters and events will help the reader feel the book and imagine themselves standing right behind the main character's back, as is they were part of the story. The Son of Neptune By: Rick Riordan The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan is the second book of its series, the Heroes of Olympus. Published in 2011, the book follows up on Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon who has been missing from his Camp, called Camp Half-Blood. The book starts off with Percy, who is being chased by gorgons for the sole reason that he is the son of Poseidon. Percy has no idea why he is being chased, but there is one name that was left in his head. Annabeth. Percy thinks that there is a deep meaning to why he only remembers the name Annabeth, but while running away from the gorgons, he ends up in Camp Jupiter. There he meets Hazel and Frank, who show him around and are soon taken on a quest that will change their life. Compared to the first book of the series, I find this book a major improvement. It is filled with very interesting characters from Greek Mythology, and the action in this book is just extraordinary and outstanding. If you have read the first book and didn’t find it interesting, read this book of redemption by Rick Riordan and you’ll definitely want to read more of the series!
"100 Things Blackhawks Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die" By: Tab Bamford The book “100 Things Blackhawks Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die” is a book that tells you about the history of the Blackhawks in the NHL and their success and failure. It also encourages you to do better in anything that you're striving towards. In my opinion, this book is very interesting and inspiring. The book also helps you get past your tragedies and start doing productive work that will lead you to success. Something that I really liked about this book is that it involves a lot of history of hockey and its legends. It tells you about how many goals, assists, and points the legends of hockey scored and how they got to the NHL. A lot of the players in this book went through tragedies and yet had the power and determination go move forward and succeed. Overall, this is an amazing book and I would recommend for everyone to read it and experience how well it is written.
