The soccer season is just beginning, and here is what all the team members need to know as of right now! Previously, we said that the girls soccer teams involved the fifth through eighth grade girls, but sadly, there will not be a seventh and eighth grade girls soccer team this year. As for the fifth and sixth girls soccer team, practices for the first game began the week of April 17th. Mr. Parece, who is coaching the team, says that to be on the soccer team, you will need cleats, shin guards, to arrive on time to all practices and games, and to have a positive attitude. The team is scheduled to play at different parks, not Prussing, due to the lack of a soccer field.
Boys and Girls Track and Field
This year, grades fifth through eighth boys and girls track and field will NOT be coached by Ms. Moore or Mr. Vonder Haar, but instead, by the Chicago Park District. The team is beginning practices, which are scheduled for MondaysandThursdays after school. Additionally, if you are on the track and field team, make note that there will be two meets for track and field, one as a practice meet, and the other as a qualifying meet. The top three runners at the qualifying meet will move on to the next part of the competition.
